elaine is founder and course leader of write it down! creative writing retreats in spaiN.

In 2011, inspired by the discovery of her parents’ war diaries, writer and journalist Elaine Kingett established Write it Down!: writing and mindfulness meditation holidays and retreats in Spain and workshops, now on Zoom, that will inspire everyone, irrespective of previous writing experience or academic ability to write down their lives, for both the recognised mental and physical health benefits and to rediscover their creative imagination.

Write It Down! holidays and retreats are unpretentious, energising and inclusive, organised into small groups and set in unique and beautiful locations. In a non-critical and relaxed environment, individual creativity blossoms. The weeks provide a lasting boost in self-esteem and self-confidence, a notebook full of ideas for poems, stories and memoirs and they demonstrate the power of pen on paper to enrich our lives.

Elaine’s classes never fail to pick me up; every one shows me something new about myself, and about my perspective on life. It’s a luxury of self-expression. It’s completely unique, on an emotional, personal, psychological level. With the added bonus that Elaine is amazing and allows you to find your creative space.
