A restorative rural hideaway
Join us for four blissful nights of writing, walking and meditation in the mystical wilds of Snowdonia. The week will be hosted at Nook, Charlotte and Nick Ashbee's enchanting 400-year-old Grade II listed stone farmhouse in 98 acres of Snowdonia National Park. There will be ancient oak woodland to explore, stone circles to dance around, rivers to cast your dreams into, fire pits to warm your heart, and Snowdon’s mountains to inspire your writing.
With a riverside campfire, Welsh blankets, log burners and underfloor heating for chillier days and our own hot tub, this is a cosy and welcoming hideaway with lots of nooks and crannies, narrow wooden stairs and deep windowsills lined with cushions. Stunning natural landscape, constantly changing light sweeping over the hills, pure air and the supportive, uncritical companionship of other writers will inspire you to write down your life and create your own story. You will return home refreshed, rejuvenated and with new friendships firmly forged!
The retreat includes journalling, note-booking, memoir, autobiography, life writing and creative writing. It is open to everyone, no previous writing experience is necessary. There are daily mindfulness meditation sessions; meditative, observational walks in the windswept hills; visits to local villages; and morning and afternoon writing workshops with plenty of time for reading, relaxing and exploring.
Arrival: We include pick-up from Bangor train station.
Group numbers: The course is limited to five people.
Food & drink: The price of the holiday includes full board – cooked breakfast, buffet lunch, and dinner with wine. Homemade cake, tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits available throughout the day.
Transport: All transport is included. If you wish to return to the station at a time that does not coincide with the rest of the group, this would be charged extra.
